My approach is collaborative. It is my belief that the therapeutic relationship is sacred and instrumental to the healing process. As we work together I cultivate openness, curiosity, and warmth--meeting you where you are. Each individual has the potential to heal and experience freedom. My role is to support and guide this sacred process in a trusting and safe environment. As Rumi said “The wound is the place where the Light enters you”. I will be your ally as we uncover and heal your wounds and blockages, unstick repetitive patterns, set up healthy boundaries, navigate new territories, and realize one’s potential.
The content of a session depends on what is going on in your life, and which phase of our process we are in. Depending on your particular needs I may use combination of integrative and contemplative therapeutic approaches including Psychodynamic, Jungian, Family Systems, and/or Buddhist and Somatic (movement, meditation, and breath) practices.
Together we will work in various stages and take a look at your past, present and future. In the first stage we explore the various aspects of your life that are challenging. In the second stage we name your desired goals and personal needs and aspirations. What do you want your life and relationships to look like? In the third stage we uncover the conscious and unconscious beliefs, experiences, practices and attitudes that may be undermining personal success and your relationship with you and others. Then we will identify alternative practices—new ways of being and relating. In the fourth stage we will continue to strengthen and integrate new patterns that allow us to embrace all the ups and downs in life, reach our potential and live a fulfilling life.
